What's the story?

I was interested to read very different stories in the Times News and Sunday's Allentown Morning Call about Neil Makhija's experience at President Trump's speech in Harrisburg.

The Call reported the following. He was pushed and shoved by a few men until a state trooper intervened. He said the men mistakenly thought he was with a group of hecklers but he said he was just listening to the president. He is quoted as saying, "I have no idea why they did that. I didn't vote for him but he's still my president." Makhija hoped Trump would talk about the opioid and heroin crisis. The Times News reported the following. He said he was assaulted. Trump supporters removed him from the arena before local police stepped in. He was eventually allowed back in. He is quoted as saying, "I got assaulted/shoved/pushed/cornered. ... I figured the guy is in fact president of the U.S. and so I'd stand in the back and watch. Apparently that's not allowed." Many of the men surrounding him were wearing bikers for Trump shirts and the Harrisburg police helped him.So you decide - what's the real story? The one from the Morning Call published late Saturday immediately after the speech, or the one in the Times News which contradicts much of what is in the first story. Did Makhija embellish it for the local paper to impress potential voters?I attended the speech. Best part was seeing and hearing the real thing and then watching 11 p.m. news, which raised the trivial to major news, and now reading two very different accounts of the same event.JoAnn PaslawskyTamaqua
