The Palmerton football team hosted its 13th annual Blue Bombers Invitational weightlifting meet on April 30. There were 140 total players present that represented Palmerton, Tamaqua, Pleasant Valley, Palisades, Northampton, Souderton, William Allen, Marian, North Schuylkill and Whitehall.

Whitehall won the team championship with 44 points.Tamaqua's Nate Boyle won the 14-15 year old division for Most Outstanding Lifter.He benched 225 pounds and squatted 400, for a total of 625 pounds in the 165-pound weight class.Boyle has now won the award two years in a row.Team Standings1.
