Sofia Piccone, a freshman at Rustin High School in West Chester, recently turned in a strong performance at the District 1 cross country meet to qualify for Saturday’s PIAA State Championship meet in Hershey.

Piccone had a time of 19:22 at the district 1 championship meet, which was held last week at Lehigh University.

Piccone is the daughter of Antonio and Mary Piccone. Her mother is the former Mary Reid, a field hockey and track standout during her time at Lehighton High School. She is also the granddaughter of Ken and Marion Reid of Lehighton.
