WILKINSBURG, Pa. (AP) - Police have critically wounded a wanted parolee after he allegedly twice rammed a police cruiser before trying to drive away in crime-ridden Pittsburgh suburb.
Allegheny County police say 39-year-old Todd Anthony Robinson was on parole for a 1995 homicide conviction when Wilkinsburg officers tried to arrest him about 5:30 a.m. in the parking lot of a McDonald's. It's not immediately clear what Robinson did to violate his parole.But county police - who are reviewing the shooting and will report to the district attorney - say Robinson jumped in his car, backed up and twice rammed a Wilkinsburg cruiser before driving away. That's when officers fired, wounding him.Police say Robinson was expected to survive, despite being in critical condition.It was not immediately clear how many shots were fired, or how many officers fired them.
