No injuries occurred after a car caught fire early this morning in Palmerton.
Borough fire Chief Dennis Behler said firefighters responded at 4:06 a.m. to a parked car on fire in front of a home in the 100 block of Lehigh Avenue.“It appears that it was electrical in nature,” said Behler. He said it started between the interior body panel and exterior of the car over the driver’s side rear wheel.Behler said that while all the windows were smoked up on the inside, the car appears fixable.“Not a whole lot of damage to it fire-wise,” he said. “There was smoke damage.”Behler said the matter was under control in about 20 minutes, though firefighters remained on scene for about an hour to make sure all the hot spots were out.
