A Carbon County woman pleaded guilty on Thursday in the county court to one count each of driving under the influence and endangering the welfare of a child - admitting driving drunk with two children in her vehicle.
She pleaded to DUI charges before Judge Steven R. Serfass.Jill Lynn Emberger, 42, of Jim Thorpe, was stopped on July 2along Route 903 in Penn Forest Township by state police at Lehighton a safety checkpoint. She was found to be under the influence and submitted to a blood test, which revealed a 0.09 BAC.Troopers said in the vehicle with Emberger were two children, ages 5 and 12.Serfass deferred sentencing so Emberger can obtain a drug and alcohol evaluation and also apply for placement in the county's Intermediate Punishment Program - house arrest.
