Two defendants entered guilty pleas on Thursday in Carbon County court to drug charges.
Judge Steven R. Serfass accepted the pleas.Rebecca Elizabeth Hackney, 30, of Wilkes-Barre, and formerly of Lehighton, pleaded to one count of possession of drug paraphernalia.She was arrested on July 21along South East Alley by Lehighton police. Police responded to a report of drug activity in the area and found Hackney in a vehicle with the drug paraphernalia. The police report said methamphetamine was also found. A charge of possession of a controlled substance was dropped in a plea bargain.Serfass placed her on probation for a year and ordered her to continue her current drug program. The sentence runs consecutive to a term she is currently serving in Luzerne County.Jordan Alese Grammes, 23, of Albrightsville, pleaded to one count of possession of drug paraphernalia. She was arrested on May 1, 2015, after Lehighton police searched her apartment and found drug items.Serfass placed her on probation for a year and ordered her to get a drug and alcohol evaluation and render 50 hours of community service. The sentence is consecutive to a prison term she is currently serving in Carbon County.Both defendants must also pay court costs of about $1,000 and a $50 per month supervision fee while on probation.
