LEWISBURG - Marian's Danny Berlitz left the PIAA Swimming Championships Friday with a gold medal.

The sophomore won the 500-freestyle with a time of 4:33.66, edging Springdale's Kevin Kondrit (4:33.69) a Bucknell University's Kinney Natatorium.

Berlitz was the top seed in the Class 2A race.
