Schuylkill County judges have accepted pleas from people charged by local police.
In addition to their punishments, all were ordered to pay court costs and fees.Samantha J. DiGilio, 25, of Coaldale: Charged by state police at Reading with possession of a controlled substance on March 25, 2016.President Judge William E. Baldwin sentenced her to 12 months on probation.Michael P. Kryworuka, 41, of Tamaqua: Charged by Rush Township police with and indecent assault of a person under age 16, corruption of minors, indecent assault, and indecent exposure on Sept. 10.Baldwin sentenced him to nine to 23 months in jail, perform 40 hours of community service, and undergo drug and alcohol, mental health, and sex offender evaluations.Kryworuka may have no contact with the victim.Two counts of involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, and one each of corruption of minors, indecent assault and stop sign violation were dropped.In a separate case, Kryworuka pleaded guilty to running a stop sign and giving false identification to law enforcement on Jan. 3, 2016.In that case, Baldwin sentenced him to 12 months on probation, to be served at the same time as the first case, and to perform 20 hours of community service.The stop sign charge was dropped.Tony Mundo, 46, of Tamaqua: Charged by Tamaqua police with unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and receiving stolen property on Nov. 29, 2015.Mundy pleaded no contest to the unauthorized use of a motor vehicle charge, and Judge John J. Domalakes sentenced him to one to 23 months in jail.Mundy was also ordered to pay $2,241 in restitution.He is to report to jail on March 13.Two counts of receiving stolen property were dropped.Nicholas J. Toth, 22, of New Ringgold: Charged by Tamaqua police with driving under the influence, and turning movements on March 12, 2016.Domalakes sentenced him to six months on probation, fined him $325, and ordered him to perform 10 hours of community service.Jacob A. Taschler, 40, of Palmerton: Charged by West Penn Township police with theft, retail theft, and receiving stolen property. Domalakes sentenced him to two years on probation on the theft charge, and ordered him to pay $554.28 restitution.The other charges were dropped.John R. Muffley Jr., 36, of Tamaqua: Charged by Tamaqua police with aggravated assault, simple assault, and harassment on Sept. 25, 2015.Muffled pleaded no contest plea to simple assault. Domalakes sentenced him to four to 23 months in jail, followed by 12 months on probation. He was also ordered to complete a course on anger management.He is to report to the jail at 9 a.m. March 22. The other charges were dropped.Francesco Pavia, 44, of Jim Thorpe: Charged by Tamaqua police with two counts of harassment on July 6.Domalakes fined Pavia $300. Two additional counts of harassment were dropped.
