Jim Thorpe's Horizons gift shop will be celebrate 20 years of business this Saturday, complete with live music, art, and food.

Holland said that Saturday's celebration will be a sort of open-house event, featuring coffee, wine, cheese, cake and other light fare. Musicians Matt Siler, Eamon Murray, and Ian Gallagher will perform, and artist Jessica Rose will be drawing and presenting some of her other works."It's kind of like a customer appreciation day," Holland said.Owner Shelli Holland said that her inspiration to start Horizons came during her on the road with some psychedelic music legends."I've always wanted to own a shop like this," Holland said. "Back in the early '90s I toured with the band Phish, and they inspired me to open the shop."Featuring tie-dye shirts, incense, essential oils, candles, Sol-Mate socks, women's clothing, tapestries, posters, and a ton of Grateful Dead merchandise, the store has an eclectic selection to sate all your hippie needs.Over the past two decades, Holland has built up a great reputation amongst the local and tourist Dead-Head crowd, which she said is the reason that Horizons still stands."Grateful Dead stuff never really goes out of style," Holland said. "Generations of hippies keep it alive. It will never fade away."
