Tamaqua Police have issued an arrest warrant for Gregory Ney, 36, whose last known address was in Orwigsburg, after he assaulted a woman last Friday.

The victim contacted police at 6:20 p.m., telling them that Ney threatened to kill her, smashed her cellphone, grabbed her by the hair and pulled her into his truck. As they were driving on Route 209, in the area of Sisters Cantina, he threatened to kill her with a loaded rifle he keeps in his truck before pushing her out the door, tossing her to the roadway.Ney drives a red Peterbilt truck with SMA Trucking lettered on the side of the cab. According to the victim, Ney lives out of his truck and usually parks in the Orwigsburg/Hamburg area.Police charged him with aggravated assault, reckless endangerment, simple assault and criminal mischief.Anyone with information on his whereabouts may contact police at 570-668-5000 or 570-668-6100.
