WILKES-BARRE, Pa. (AP) - A northeastern Pennsylvania man has been sentenced to 9½ to 19 years in prison in an attack on a woman who authorities said was stripped, beaten and taken into woods where her throat was slit.
Twenty-seven-year-old Nygee Taylor of Wilkes-Barre pleaded guilty Wednesday in Luzerne County to conspiracy to commit first-degree murder in the October 2014 assault. Nearly a dozen other charges were withdrawn in exchange for the plea.Police in Wyoming County said the woman was found naked and bloody in a wooded area of Bear Creek Township with a 3-inch-deep laceration "from the trachea to her ear."Authorities said she had earlier been stripped at a Wilkes-Barre home and beaten "by a number of females" and then was placed in a barrel for about four hours.
