One injured in West Penn Township crash

One person was injured Tuesday afternoon when a driver lost control along Route 309 in West Penn Township. The crash occurred about a half mile south of School Road. An Andreas resident was traveling south when the car left the right side of the roadway, traveling up a grass-covered embankment before rolling onto its roof. The victim was treated at the scene by members of the Penn Mahoning ambulance and Lehighton paramedics before being transported to a trauma center. West Penn fire police maintained traffic control at the scene, reducing the three lanes to one alternating lane. West Penn Chief of Police Brian Johnson is investigating the incident.
