Palmerton Borough Council appointed Dennis Behler as fire chief of the Palmerton Municipal Fire Company Thursday night.

Jason Behler was named Assistant Fire Chief.Palmerton Municipal Fire Company line officers Captain Mike Kercsmar, Lieutenant Gerard Alfaro, and Lieutenant Rob Sell were recognized for their service.West End Fire Company line officers Captain Walter Haas Sr. and Lieutenant Kale Getter were also recognized for their service.Shaun Rios was approved as a volunteer firefighter for the Palmerton Municipal Fire Company.
