Icy road conditions are to blame for a two-vehicle crash that happened at 2:29
p.m.Saturday on Gilbert Road in Chestnuthill Township.State police at the Fern Ridge said the incident happened when a 2004 Kia Sedona operated by Ernest Racz, 66, of Blakeslee, was southbound and lost control of the vehicle due to road conditions. Police said it came to a stop sideways in the northbound lane at the same time a 2012 Jeep Compass, driven by Angela Barboza, 37, of Effort, was traveling down a hill. Police said she was unable to avoid contact with the Sedona, which sustained minor rear-end damages. The Jeep received disabling damages to its front passenger's side.Police said Racz sustained possible injuries, while Barboza and two passengers, a 9-year-old and a 12-year-old, both boys from Effort, were uninjured.
