M&S Truck and Trailer Repair moved to Palmerton about a year ago from Allentown, and now has added becoming a U-Haul neighborhood dealer to its list of services.

Matthew Degolyer, owner M&S Truck & Trailer Repair, said he branched into the rental market to offer "more conveniences to the people." He's been in business for three years, but left Allentown for the mountains, because it was just "too expensive" to run a startup and there was "too much competition," he said.He and his wife, Sheryl Degolyer, the other half of M&S, settled in Palmerton and are very happy they moved the business there, too."Now, I'm two minutes from the house," Matthew Degolyer said.Located at 500 Little Gap Road, M&S Truck & Trailer Repair is a two part business. On one hand, it's a U-Haul rental company and on the other, it's a repair shop with 24-hour roadside repair."I believe if I can go out and fix it for the customer, then you don't need a tow truck," Matthew Degolyer said.When he can't fix it, he calls a tow truck - All Points Towing to be exact. But he doesn't charge a higher price for towing just because he wasn't able to fix it along the road."I don't mark them up," Degolyer said. "It's not fair."The repair side can do a complete engine overhaul, repair refrigerated trailers, repair lift gates, offer complete dealer-level computer diagnostics and electrical diagnostics, and do federal Department of Transportation inspections.
