Kidder Township reorganizes
The Kidder Township board of supervisors met Tuesday evening for its annual reorganization meeting. The township board will look the same for 2017 as it did in the previous year.
Thomas Bradley will stay in control of the board as chairman, Thomas LaFond will remain vice chairman and police liaison. Supervisor Bruce Berger will be roadmaster again in 2017 at a recommended rate of $10 per hour.Township secretary Suzanne Brooks will be township treasurer with a $200,000 bond. Township manager Lisa Klem will be assistant secretary-treasurer.Daniel Miscavige will continue as township solicitor at a rate of $95 per hour. Miscavige will also act as solicitor for the planning commission.Robert Dobash will remain in the position of Kidder Township buildings and code enforcement officer and zoning officer. Dobash will also represent the township as liaison and voting delegate to the Carbon County Council of Governments.Sewage enforcement officer duties will be carried out by Brior Environmental Services Inc. Arro Engineering and Environmental Consultants will be township and planning commission engineer.John Toft will act as chairman of the vacancy board.Supervisor Barbara Franzosa will be liaison to the planning commission. Planning commission members reappointed for the year are Eugene Getz, James Smith and Brian Refferty. Wilson Klotzman will act as alternate.Supervisor Frank Pieri will be liaison to the zoning hearing board. Christine Lindsey will be secretary to the zoning hearing board, and will continue with the same duties she has had in the past.The supervisors reappointed Richard Hubert and Patricia DeMarco to the zoning hearing board.Franzosa will also serve as liaison to the environmental advisory council, to which Cathy Weber was reappointed.All township supervisors will be delegates to the PSATS convention. Pieri will be the township’s voting delegate, with Klem as the alternate.Klem will also be the township’s voting delegate for the Carbon County Tax Collection Committee. Brooks will serve as the alternate.Bradley and Pieri will serve as township liaison to the fire commission. Bradley will also be the point of contact for the Lake Harmony Rescue Squad.Mauch Chunk Trust will be the township depository for the year. Berkheimer Associates will be responsible for the collection of all applicable local enabling taxes.Klem is the chief administrative officer for both the police and nonpolice pension funds.The township will continue to meet on the third Thursday of the month at 7 p.m.
