A PennSTAR helicopter that hit wires at St. Luke's Miners Campus early Thursday morning was removed from the site this morning.
The helicopter was en route to the hospital for a patient transport struck wires at 2:20 a.m., causing power to be lost for some local residents.
The hospital did not lose power, according to Kira Bub, marketing director St. Luke's University Health Network, who said a power company restored power to all who were impacted by 9 a.m.
The helicopter landed safely, there were no injuries to any helicopter personnel, and no patients were on board the helicopter.
Bub said the patient was transported by ground without delay, and there was no disruption in patient care.
