State police at Frackville arrested Jason Edward Stahr, 43, of Ashland, on several charges after they responded to a domestic dispute involving shots fired at his residence on Market Street at 5:12 p.m. Dec. 29.
Stahr, who police said was hospitalized after a possible drug overdose, will be arraigned on charges of aggravated assault, simple assault and recklessly endangering another person after he's discharged.Police said upon arrival, they found Stahr unconscious and being treated in an Ashland Ambulance. He was then transported to the Lehigh Valley Hospital-Schuylkill East in Pottsville for an overdose.Police said it was determined there was an argument and his wife said she left the residence for several hours. When she came home, she found him lying on the floor upstairs with an empty pill bottle on the bed and a shotgun leaning against the bed. She told police he was groggy when she tried to wake him. When he awoke, she grabbed the barrel of the gun, but Stahr grabbed it with both hands and the gun discharged as the woman held the barrel away from herself, she said. Police said a round was found in the wall.
