SCRANTON, Pa. (AP) - Icy roads are the possible cause of several crashes in northeastern Pennsylvania.
Lackawanna County 911 says emergency crews responded to multiple crashes in higher elevations. A 911 supervisor says some roads were icy.Forecasters called for slippery roads throughout most of central and eastern Pennsylvania Monday morning.The National Weather Service warned light freezing rain could create a glaze on roads and sidewalks. A freezing rain advisory covered all of central and eastern Pennsylvania except for Philadelphia and the suburbs.The advisory expired at 1 p.m., with temperatures expected to rise above freezing by this afternoon.
