Schuylkill County court - probation revocations

Schuylkill County President Judge William E. Baldwin has revoked the probations of several people charged by local police.

John Smith, 27, of Tamaqua: Baldwin revoked his probation, and sent him back to jail for three to six months.Smith was charged by Coaldale police with defiant trespass on Oct. 28, 2014.On Oct. 14, 2015, Baldwin placed him on 12 months of probation.Baldwin also revoked Smith's probation in another case, and resentenced him to 12 to 24 months in state prison.In that one, Smith had been charged by Coaldale police with conspiracy, receiving stolen property; theft by unlawful taking-movable property; receiving stolen property; and defiant trespass on June 1, 2014.Baldwin had sentenced him on Oct. 14, 2015, to 12 months on probation.Joshua DeWire, 27, of Tamaqua: Baldwin revoked his probation and sent him back to jail for six to 12 months.DeWire had been charged by Tamaqua police with having a controlled substance he was not authorized to have on Aug. 17, 2015.Baldwin had placed DeWire on six months' probation on May 25.Baldwin also denied a parole application fromThomas L. Bilsak, 28, of Tamaqua.Bilsak had been charged by Tamaqua police with two counts of manufacture, delivery or possession with intent to manufacture or deliver a controlled substance; criminal use of a communication facility; having a controlled substance; use/possession of drug paraphernalia; and disruption of service on Oct. 31, 2013.He pleaded guilty on May 2 to having a controlled substance, and was sentenced to 190 days to 12 months in jail. The other charges were dropped.
