Much like this year, Walker Township residents will not see an increase in their municipal property tax rates at the turn of the calendar.
That welcome news can be assured after the township's board of supervisors on Saturday granted the 2017 budget final adoption.Next year's spending plan will once again leave the property tax rate in check at 5.54 mills. The last time the board raised the millage was in 2015, when it upped the rate by 0.5 mills. In other business, supervisors:• Hired Ann Ostergaard as part-time secretary.• Approved the 2017 board of supervisors and planning commission meeting dates for advertisement.• Announced the board's reorganization meeting will be held at 7:30 p.m. Jan. 3.
