Living Nativity, creche to aid food pantry

The hills of Summit Hill will be alive with the Christmas spirit on Sunday with the annual Christmas Crèche open house.

The event, hosted by the Summit Hill Historical Society and Summit Hill Heritage Center, will take place from 2 to 5 p.m. at various locations around town.There will be a living Nativity at the Church on the Rock, located inside the heritage center at the corner of Chestnut and Hazard streets; traditional decorations at the United Methodist Church, located at the corner of White and Oak streets; a crèche display at St. Joseph's Parish of the Panther Valley at 462 W. Ludlow St.; and a restored 1930s crèche and more at the Summit Hill Heritage Center.In addition to displays, the Panther Valley Bell Choir will perform at 3 p.m. at Hope of Christ Presbyterian Church, located at the corner of White and Market streets.Light refreshments will be served following the program.A free will donation jar will be available at each site.
