The Greater Northern Lehigh Chamber, partner of the Greater Lehigh Valley Chamber of Commerce, is looking for one outstanding community member for its 23rd Annual Spirit Award.
The Spirit Award was initiated to honor a citizen who has served not only the Chamber, but also the community according to the GLVCC.The nomination must describe the community member with a brief statement highlighting the business/organization/individual and answer the following questions:• To what degree is the nominee/organization involved with the GNLCC/GLVCC and the community? Please explain the type of community service, positions or offices held and how this benefits the community organization and your company.• Share how the nominee/organization demonstrates excellence in customer satisfaction and a commitment to the Greater Northern Lehigh area.• Why do you believe the nominee is qualified to receive this award?Today is the last day to submit nominations with the banquet dinner to be held in March to honor the recipient.Last year's recipient was Walnutport resident Nicholas Smith.Smith was born in Lehighton and served in the Army beginning at age 17. He opened his own business in his home before retiring in 1999. He has been involved in many community volunteer organizations including The Walnutport Playground Association and the Shriners Hospital 100 Million Dollar Club. He also holds a certificate from the Rotary Club of Slatington for "Service above Self."Entries can be given to Alice Wanamaker at
