The Lehighton Indians and Tamaqua Raiders battled in the Times News Game of the Week Friday night. The game started with the Raiders jumping out to an early 21-6 first half lead.

But the Indians wouldn't go away as they used a Cody Scherer TD pass and a couple of touchdown runs by Mike Mayernik to pull to within 28-26 early in the third quarter.

But Tamaqua powerful ground game proved to be too much as Nick Briener scored five touchdowns and Briener and Nate Boyle ran for over 100 yards.

The Raiders eventually stopped a late Lehighton drive and then ran out the clock to post a 42-40 victory.
