District Judge Stephen Bayer listened to a recording of state troopers' Aug. 4 interview with Jane E. Schreiner, 69, of McAdoo, who admitted to shooting her husband Kenneth after he would not stop loudly cursing her family.

"I was just so mad. I just wanted him to shut up," Schreiner is heard saying on the recording.

Schreiner's preliminary hearing before Bayer was held in the Schuylkill County courthouse, Pottsville.

Said he hated her family. She usually locked herself in her when he wouldn't stop disparaging them and using foul language.

Charges were bound to court.
