The Grier City Union Sunday School will reopen its doors in time for a special ceremony in honor of the 15th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks.
The service will be held at 5 p.m. Saturdayat the Grier City Sunday school in Rush Township and will include guest speakers, singing and a flag dedication. Representatives from several of the community's fire companies and veterans' organizations will be in attendance.Immediately following the ceremony, the flagpole will be rededicated and cake and coffee will be served.Established in 1897, the Grier City Sunday school is one of the only nondenominational Sunday schools in the country. With a decline in attendance, meetings were held sporadically until the bylaws were updated and a new board of officers was elected a few months ago.For more information, contact Justin Bailey at
