A crash along Route 309, on the Blue Mountain in West Penn Township, sent at least one person to the hospital on Monday afternoon. After impacting with a Saturn SUV, this silver Ford Taurus continued traveling until impacting a tree on the east berm of the road in Lehigh County. The Saturn came to rest on the roadway in Schuylkill County. The driver of the Taurus was extricated from the wreckage by firefighters of the West Penn Fire Co. No. 1, then treated at the scene by members of the Penn Mahoning ambulance and transported to a Lehigh Valley area trauma center.
