A Schuylkill County man is being sought for aggravated assault and related charges.

State police at Frackville have obtained an arrest warrant for Christopher Erwin Benjamin, 34, formerly of West Mahanoy Township.According to troopers late Saturday night and early Sunday morning Benjamin repeatedly beat a 31-year-old female and threatened her life if she left a wooded area near 94 Raven Run Road, in West Mahanoy Township.With the female was her 4-year-old child. Troopers said the beatings occurred over the Saturday-Sunday time period until she managed to make her way to Raven Run Road where she was able to get help from neighbors. An ambulance was called and she was taken to a hospital for treatment of what troopers said were serious injuries.Troopers secured the felony warrant for Benjamin on Sunday from District Judge Christina Hale of Frackville.Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Benjamin is asked to call troopers at 570-874-5300.Troopers warned anyone encountering Benjamin to use caution as he is being considered dangerous.
