Three teenagers were injured in a one-vehicle crash that occurred at 10:38 p.m. on Saturday along New Philadelphia Road in East Brunswick Township, Schuylkill County.
State police at Frackville said a 16-year-old female from Orwigsburg was driving a 2007 Kia Sorento northbound going up a hill and negotiating a left curve when she lost control.The Sorento traveled onto the berm and up an embankment. The Sorento then rolled over onto its roof back onto the roadway where it came to rest in the middle of the road on its roof.Troopers said the driver and her three passengers exited the vehicle before it burst into flames.The three passengers, all females from Orwigsburg, ages 15, 16, and 17, were injured. Two of the three were taken by ambulance to the Schuylkill Medical Center-East Norwegian Street, Pottsville, while the third was taken to a hospital by private vehicle. The driver was not injured. Troopers were assisted at the scene by volunteers from the Orwigsburg Fire Company, who extinguished the fire.Troopers said the driver was cited for the crash.
