Lehighton Area School District announced Thursday that a bid opening for construction of a proposed elementary center has been pushed back a second time.
Bids will now be opened Aug. 11 at 1 p.m. instead of Aug. 9.As with the initial delay, Lehighton said the extra two days would give potential bidders extra time to put a package together.The bid opening was first moved from July 27.Lehighton estimates the K-5 elementary will cost $32.5 million.It will meet Aug. 15 for a construction workshop, followed by its regular board meeting on Aug. 22.
