The concert is held in the Palmerton Borough Park Bandstand beginning at 7 p.m. and is sponsored by the Palmerton Lions Club. In case of inclement weather the Bandstand Committee may cancel. Please bring a lawn chair. Aug. 14 will be the Hazleton Band.Cycle clubThe Zinc City Cycle Club, located on Route 209 (a mile south of Kresgeville), is holding a car and bike show on Sunday. Register 8 a.m. to noon. For information, call 570-992-4214.Pig roastA nonprofit Christian coffeehouse "The Fire Escape" is in the works for Palmerton. On Saturday,a pig roast fundraiser will be held at the Walnutport Borough Park from noon to 4 p.m. Live music all afternoon by "Cerulean Hills" and "Price is Rice," so bring a lawn chair. There will be kegs of white and blue birch beer and a meal for your child (10 and under) included with ticket purchase. This is a family event.Palmerton VFWThe Palmerton Memorial Post 7134 will meet at 7 p.m. Monday. The meeting will take place at the VFW Post, 2020 Forest Inn Road, Palmerton. The group welcomes veterans to join them. They meet the second Monday of each month.Family historyCome to the Palmerton Area Library, 402 Delaware Ave., from 6-7:30 p.m. Tuesdayto learn how to research your family history. Buy a library tote bag for $5 and fill it free one time with items from the book sale.Living HopeIlluminate Children's Ministry is held at Living Hope Lighthouse Church, 705 Third St., Palmerton the first and third Friday of the month at 6 p.m. The program is for kids K-6 and includes puppets, songs, skits, Bible lessons, games and more.The Gaming Grotto for older children and adults is also on the first and third Friday from 7-11 p.m. This is a gaming lounge with board and card games, video games from Atari to Xbox.
