READING, Pa. (AP) - Three Republican committee members in an eastern Pennsylvania county have quit, saying they can't support Donald Trump as the party's presidential nominee.
The Reading Eagle (http://bit.ly/2aKcwRG ) reports William Cinfici, John Fielding and Connor Kurtz quit the Berks County Republican Committee on Monday. All three men say they disagree with Trump's policies and say he doesn't uphold Republican principles and is unfit to be president. The county's chairman, Joseph Rudderow III, says he's working hard to get Trump elected and says the committee stands behind all of the party's candidates.Kurtz called Trump "an unstable wannabe strongman" and quoted President Abraham Lincoln in resigning, saying, "A house divided against itself cannot stand." Kurtz also says, "The modern Republican Party would have done well to apply Lincoln's logic to our own party."---Information from: Reading Eagle,
