A vehicle stop for littering led to the arrest of the driver and passenger on drug charges.
Pocono Mountain Regional police said the incident began at 9:32 p.m. Sunday in the parking lot of Bill's ShopRite in Mount Pocono.Police saw a woman get out of a vehicle and drop a plastic bottle or cup. The woman never picked up the item and the vehicle began to pull away. The vehicle was stopped for littering.At the stop the two occupants of the vehicle were identified as John Tancredi, 26, of North Brunswick, New Jersey, and Lisa Zizza, 50, of Mount Pocono. Neither one had a valid driver's license, police said, and both displayed numerous indicators of criminal behavior. During a further investigation a consent to search the vehicle was obtained.Heroin, numerous hypodermic syringes, screening materials, spoons with white residue and a crack pipe were found in the vehicle.Both were placed under arrest and charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
