The Carbon County Emergency Management Agency announced that a First Responder Safety Training for Natural Gas Vehicles and Fueling stations will be conducted by the Pennsylvania State Fire Academy in September.

The five-hour class will be held at 9 a.m. Sept. 18 at the EMA at 1264 Emergency Lane, Nesquehoning.The course uses curriculum from the National Alternative Fuels Training Consortium of the West Virginia University and covers compressed natural gas and liquefied natural gas.It will properly train and educate first responders on the properties, manufacture and production, vehicles, infrastructure, transport, stations and handling, as well as first responder procedures related to CNG and LNG.Registration is required and is due by noon on Aug. 26.For more information or an application, contact Mark Nalesnik, EMA coordinator, at 570-325-3097 or
