Charges are pending after a crash that happened in Tamaqua on July 5.
At 1:38 a.m., officers responded to a call about a disabled vehicle at the intersection of Rose and Railroad streets and found a 2008 Honda Civic on the railroad tracks.The driver, Abdelmessih Girgis, 40, of Bridgeport, Montgomery County, told officers he was on his way home from making a delivery for
S.D.S. Rx Healthcare Delivery Specialists when his GPS told him to turn left. He did and ended up stuck on the west side of the tracks.The Honda was towed after officers contacted the railroad company.Girgis appeared to be under the influence of marijuana or other drugs and was transported for blood tests.Charges are pending the results of those tests.
