Two people were injured Saturday evening in a head on crash along Route 209 in Mahoning Township.

The crash occurred just before 6 p.m. at the intersection with Pine Street in Packerton. One of the two cars involved hit a utility pole and caught fire.

Route 209 was closed for over an hour.

Lehighton and Mahoning township fire companies responded with fire police maintaining traffic control at the scene. Mahoning Township police are investigating the incident.
