The concert on June 26 was sponsored by The Horsehead Community Development Fund. Bring a lawn chair. There is no smoking in the park.On July 10, the concert will be by the Large Flower Heads. A portion of every bill will go toward the cancer treatment of longtime Palmerton resident Sherry Walz. Sherry recently found out that she has stage 4 breast cancer and must undergo treatment as soon as possible. Her insurance doesn't cover 100 percent and is very expensive. Sherry is married and has two daughters, one of which is only 4 years old. This is a devastating blow to this young family.Papa Al's has generously offered to host this fundraising event which will run all day long. Come enjoy a nice meal and support a good cause. There will also be a collection jar at Papa Al's for those who wish to make an extra donation, and the jar will remain there for ongoing collection.Palmerton VFWThe Palmerton Memorial Post 7134 will meet at 7
p.m.July 11. The meeting will be held at the VFW Post, 2020 Forest Inn Road, Palmerton. The group welcomes veterans to join them. They meet the second Monday of each month.TCF support groupThe Compassionate Friends offers ongoing support groups for parents, grandparents and adult siblings grieving the loss of a child, grandchild or sibling.
