The Red Cross staff and volunteers of Lehigh Valley-Bucks, along with volunteers from the community will install smoke alarms starting at 10 a.m. until approximately 2 p.m. today.

They will go door-to-door installing smoke alarms in homes that need them and also will teach families how to escape a home fire.

Participants will meet at 9 a.m. at Friedens Fire Company at 3158 Friedens Road, Slatington.
