Police: Officers shot at man driving SUV at officer

YORK, Pa. (AP) - Police in central Pennsylvania fired shots at a man they say hit one officer with his vehicle.

Officers said they were trying to take a wanted man into custody near a restaurant in York at about 8:30 p.m. Saturday.Police said when he saw the officers, he struck one officer with his sport utility vehicle and was driving toward another, at which point police opened fire.Police said the driver then fled the area and led police on a chase but later abandoned the SUV. A suspect was later taken into custody at Hanover Hospital.Police haven't said whether either the suspect or the vehicle were hit by bullets. State police are investigating at the request of the county district attorney's office, which is customary with officer-involved shootings.
