A free car seat checkup will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday at the Palmerton Ambulance Building, 501 Delaware Ave., Palmerton. The event is sponsored by Kid Zone Blue Mountain Health System and the Pennsylvania State Police.

During the check, a safety specialist will make sure the seat is installed correctly, there are no recalls on the seat and the child fits properly.

They will also provide information on when to turn a baby’s car seat around to face forward. Parents are asked to bring the child who uses the car seat.

The event will be held rain or shine.
