Carrying a pellet gun along a Tamaqua street after dark, led to a citation for Jonathan G. Manness, 31, of 326 W. Rowe St., Tamaqua.

An officer was on patrol when he saw Manness walking west on Lafayette Street carrying a black handgun in his right hand. The officer stopped and determined the weapon was a .117 pellet gun, a replica of a Walther P99.Manness said he was going to buy some CO2 cartridges. Police told him no stores in Tamaqua carry the cartridges. He didn't have any other answer.He was searched and a syringe was found in his pocket. Manness admitted using the syringe earlier and said he just forgot it was in his pocket.He was cited for possession of drug paraphernalia and disorderly conduct.
