Michael R. Miller, president and CEO of Miners Memorial Medical Center, Coaldale, announced Carol Bifano Wilkes as the new nursing home administrator of the hospital's Geriatric Center.

Wilkes has more than 25 years of experience in health care, working in long-term care and acute care facilities, as well as physical and sub-acute rehabilitation hospitals and outpatient clinics. She also has experience in closed-head injury, spinal-cord injury and stroke and post-polio rehabilitation.She is the daughter of Martha (Brunda) Katchur, formerly of Coaldale, and the late Michael Katchur, and the granddaughter of the late Paul and Mary Brunda of Coaldale. She and her husband, Peter, and their three children, live in Pottsville.
