EASTON, Pa. (AP) - Jurors in eastern Pennsylvania are deliberating in the case of a man accused of attacking a woman who said she played dead to avoid being killed after he threw her down a flight of stairs.
Twenty-six-year-old Bartholomew Palumbo is charged in Northampton County with attempted homicide, aggravated assault, reckless endangerment and making terroristic threats. The (Allentown) Morning Call (http://bit.ly/24yuKbI ) reports that he testified Wednesday that his girlfriend attacked him last summer in Bethlehem and he was "in a panic." He said his account differed from what he told police because he hadn't slept or eaten for a long time.Defense attorney John Waldron argued that the woman's wounds were due to her own behavior in which he said she fell several times. Prosecutors said the defendant's account wasn't credible.---Information from: The Morning Call,
