A motorcyclist was injued Monday evening when involved in a crash along Route 309 in Tamaqua.

The crash occurred at 6:10 p.m. as the biker identified as Wade Wenzel of Coaldale was traveling north and lost control while rounding a curve in the roadway.

His bike entered the right berm where he laid it down on a grassy area. Wenzel refused medical treatment at the scene, but was later transported to St. Luke's in Bethlehem, where he is listed in critical condition.

Tamaqua fire police maintained traffic control at the scene. Tamaqua police are investigating the incident.
