Pocono Mountain Regional police are looking for the driver of a sports utility vehicle involved in a hit-and-run crash earlier this week.
Police said at 2:02 p.m. on Tuesday officers responded to a crash along Route 940 at the entrance of Bills Shop Rite. On scene officers found a Honda Civic driven by an elderly male, not identified by police, in a grass area on a rock. The driver said a SUV exiting the parking lot of the shop rite struck the passenger side of his vehicle causing it to spin into the grass area.After impact the driver of the other vehicle backed up and fled off towards Route 611. The Honda driver and his passenger were transported to the Pocono Medical Center, East Stroudsburg, to be checked, police said.Police were able to obtain video from Bills Shop Rite which showed a SUV, possibly a Chevrolet, pulling into the side of the Honda then fleeing. The video indicated the driver was a female. The SUV sustained damage to the front end. Police said they are awaiting an enhanced copy of the video and expect to make an arrest.Anyone with information concerning the incident is asked to call police at 570-895-2400.
