Penn Forest supervisors ratified a vote made earlier in the month to purchase a new Chevrolet Silverado 3500 pickup from Fairway Chevrolet.
Last month, the supervisors asked board solicitor Thomas Nanovic to confirm that the township could trade in vehicles. Nanovic concluded that it was in the township's best interest to take advantage of the deal offered by Fairway, which included trading two township trucks in exchange for the purchase of a new truck, valued at $48,500 and receiving a $25,000 refund as well.The supervisors said last month that the refund would be put into escrow for the purchase of a new truck in the future.In other matters, the recreation park is now open for the season.Custom Contracting will begin work on Phase II on Monday. p.m.April 18.Vice Chairman Phillip Shedaker encourages representatives from each of the local sports associations to attend the meetings.The township is also planning an electronic recycling day on July 16 at the transfer station.
