Power has been restored to many area residents after Sunday's high winds knocked down trees and wires.
By tonight, PPL expects power to be restored to all areas.In Monroe County, 451 residents were still without power this morning, including 56 in Chestnuthill Township and 13 in Polk Township.In Carbon County, six customers were without power in Banks Township and four customers were without power in Penn Forest Township.Power was out Sunday at the Normal Square and Walmart intersections of Route 443. Walmart reopened shortly before 4 p.m. after electricity was restored.The Mahoning outage was due to wires down just past Seneca Road.Normal Square Inn was out from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. Owner Mike D' Amico Jr. said he normally opens at 4 p.m., so business was not affected, but he used a lot of propane to run his generator.Customers in pockets of East Penn, West Penn and Lehigh Townships were also without electricity.
