It was a very busy day in Nesquehoning on Thursday.
While Nesquehoning police were working to clear a tractor-trailer rollover that happened just after 8 a.m. on the east side of town, police received a report of an erratic driver in the same area.Police were able to locate the vehicle in the parking lot of the Dollar General, located about a quarter-mile away from the crash scene, and discovered a drug deal in progress.Nesquehoning police Chief Sean Smith said officers found 5 grams of crystal methamphetamine, two bundles of heroin and approximately 60 suboxone strips, as well as over $3,000 in cash in two vehicles.The occupants, who have not yet been named since the investigation is ongoing, were taken into custody and two vehicles were seized.Smith said that he was assisted in the bust by Nesquehoning officers Timothy Wuttke and Derek Marouchoc, as well as Lansford Sgt. Jack Soberick; Fern Ridge State Police, who were on-scene for the rig rollover; and Hazleton State Police Corporal Ronald Kazakavage and his K-9, Kino.Smith said charges will be filed against the three once the investigation is complete.
