A pedestrian was struck by a vehicle Saturday night while attempting to cross a street in Palmerton.

Borough Police Chief Randy Smith said the incident occurred at 9:23 p.m. when a 2008 Pontiac Sedan driven by a 17-year-old female was traveling east on Delaware Avenue.Smith said that when the teen attempted to turn onto Third Street, she hit Dakota Costenbader, 20, of Palmerton.Costenbader complained of pain in the thumb area. He was taken by Palmerton EMS to Palmerton Hospital for further evaluation, Smith said.No charges are pending at this time, he said.
